History of the Church
Sonshine Christian Church was established on Sunday, October 17, 1999 holding its first worship service at Sunshine Childcare and Learning Center in Valencia, Ca. Founded on the belief that the Church must be a proactive member of the community, Sonshine set out to ‘do the work".

Since that time to the present we have affiliated, partnered, volunteered and/or given our financial support to: the Santa Clarita Homeless Shelter, the Santa Clarita Food Panty, the Senior Center of Santa Clarita, the Northpark Christian Academy, and The Single Mothers Outreach Program of Valencia. All this without a home!

On Easter Sunday, Sonshine moved into its first and present home on 14th Street in Newhall. An ethnically diverse neighborhood, Sonshine's new home primarily consisted of Anglo and Latino heritages. Sonshine saw the opportunity to unite these two groups by offering both ESL (English as a second language) and Conversational Spanish (for the English speaking). Both groups were then invited to a joint session to practice what they’ve learned! To be of service to one another breeds friendship.
